Hello All! So I was so excited to see a full set up of this new Spring 2017 Wet N Wild (heart shaped) collection at my local cvs ahhhhhhhhh!! It's just way too cute to pass up so I insisted Bruce let me purchase more than 2 things haha. So I have a video reviewing everything I bought and doing live swatches/ trying them on my face! Hope you enjoy the video and the pictures!!
MY VIDEO--------
PICTURESSSS ------
Of course I couldn't resist this Perfect Pout lip palette!
In my video you'll see I had a hard time digging into them because they look so perfect in their palette! Comes with a cute little brush too!
I got two cheek and lip tints, a spring pink and a coral-orange!
Here are some swatches from the palette! All these shades are a bit sheer and give a wash of color not a deep pigment. If you wanna see live swatches, watch my vid!
I got the palette (below) called "Will You Marina Me" and it is goooorgeous! The last color has hints of yellow and looks really pretty on the eye. I also love how the shadows have words carved into them!
Below, are the two Mega Glo cheek and lip tints that I purchased. The left is a pink "Kiss Me If You Can" and the right is an more coral-orange color "Crush Upon A Time" but appears more pink on the skin than orange. For each shade I swiped it (on the left) and rubbed it in (on the right) since you would be rubbing it in if you use it on your cheeks.
Below is the Mega Glo heart highlighting powder that I've been dying over since I got it! I got it in the shade "The Sweetest Bling". Love the highlight shade! See it on my skin in my yt video!!
So i got the influenster Spring Fever VoxBox a bit ago and I was sooo happy! Bruce was especially happy because he ate the tastykake lol So that isn't here for picturing but rest assured, it went to a good cause. So here's my reviews on the products altho some i haven't tried yet
Secret Outlast Clear Gel Antiperspirant/Deodorant:
So I'm partial to powder deodorants (did i use that saying correctly? lol i dont think so) so I usually don't go for any gel or liquid ones. I feel like it makes me sticky before I even get sweaty, but that's just my take. I tried to outlast and it worked well to control all the things you want deodorant to control (don't wanna go into detail there, ew), but I still prefer their powder. However, the smell of this is INCREDIBLE! It's a 'clean' scent so don't expect roses or anything but it does smell really good!
NYC New York Color Applelicious Glossy:
I was way too excited when i saw these in my box cause I've been eyeing them up in the drugstore since they came out!My issue is that I can never justify buying anything that isn't nude colored since I probably won't wear it all the time.If money weren't tight i'd be buying out all the lip balms everywhere! SO yay I finally got to try these! Obviously not nude colored but leaves a pretty redish tint to your lips, if that's what your into. What I loved best was (aside from the cute lil apple in the center) was the scent. I'm a sucker for good smelling products, especially ones that sit on my lips right below my nose! I can't quite describe the scent so I asked bruce and he said "like fruit" lol so there ya go. (Oh and he added 'apple' but im not sure if he actually thought it smelled like that or if he just noticed the apple in the center lol)
Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure:
I did not try these yet since I've been using the nail stickers lately but here's what they look like in the box! I will update this after i try them though!
OSiS Dust It:
So if your like me then your hoping and praying that this stuff is a Godsend and actually works, right? I use dry shampoos and sometimes it leaves my hair heavy and almost more greasy so I was hoping this stuff would do the trick! It comes out like a powder, obviously white, and through the little holes you see in the second picture. It turns clear pretty quickly in your hand but watch out, it comes out quickly! I learned that the hard way when I first tried it. (It also has no scent.) I applied it to my hair and it did a pretty good job. I was surprised that it didn't leave white dust or residue on my hair since my hair is dark brown. It didn't do too much better than the dry shampoo so i'd say its really a matter of what 'matter' (hehe) you prefer to use, powder or spray.
Tastykake Kandy Bar Kakes:
No picture unfortunately. Bruce ate it. If you watch my vlogs then you probably saw him scoop it right out of my box the minute I opened it lol. He gave it a 6/10 saying "it's good, but not german chocolate" lol So with that logic silver is a 6/10 because it's not diamond :p Bruce Logic. He ate it up very quickly so I can assume he loved it and would be a 10/10 among snack cakes.
Disclaimer: These products were sent to me for review by Influenster.
So I always have trouble finding a lip product that I will use until I run out of it. I have tons...and tons more...of lipsticks, glosses, and balms sitting in my drawer of makeup waiting to be used for the second time! I always try out new products because I'm obsessed with nude lipsticks and love to try and find new nude colors. I tend to pick my lips, from anxiety and possibly dryness, so I look for lipsticks that moisturize my lips to keep them from peeling and also ones that last through out the day. I came across these in my CVS and fell in LOVE. Just from seeing them I knew I was willing go out on a limb and buy two colors of a lip product that had just hit the shelves.
I decided on 170 - Cotton Pink and 181 - Sheer Linen. Those were the nudest colors available at the time the display first came out in my CVS. I have "The Balm" lipsticks (or balms?) by L'Oreal. I fell in love with the texture, shine, and smoothness of them but hated that they weren't pigmented. I was sooo happy to find these lipsticks delivered great pigmentation with the same feel as the balms or even the Revlon Lip Butters (which are also quite pigmented).
Cotton Pink, at first, I thought was too pink for me but I quickly fell in love with it. I sometimes have to work early in the morning before any color comes to my face so this was the perfect shade to make me look alive! Sheer Linen is a very pretty nude, slightly (and soo very slightly) less pigmented on lips than the cotton pink. This may be because that color is so closely matched to my true lip color that it comes off as not as pigmented so results may vary.
As you can see in the swatches above the Cotton Pink one is a very bubble gum pink and the Sheer Linen is more of a brownish nude. Looking at the swatches they look pretty close in pigmentation (Cotton Pink seems a bit more sheer because the flash is on that side) so it may depend on your lip tone how much the colors show up, as the Sheer Linen seems to be a pretty natural color. The finish is very glossy looking, much like a lip gloss, and so soft. I love how its not sticky and lasts for about 4 hours. To me 4 hours (before fading) is pretty good for a balm-like consistency that has pretty decent pigmentation.
Another plus, that I found later on as I taped my review on this, is that the sides of the container are mirror-like and can therefore be used when putting on the lipstick! It doesn't distort so it can truly be used as a mirror if you forget one or if you just want to use it as a substitute one to lighten your purse!
PROS: non-sticky, pigmented nudes (not to say the darker ones aren't but I haven't tried those), no smell, mirror like packaging, no taste
CONS: Not super long lasting, a tad bit expensive ($9.99)
I bought the L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream in Medium (814). I
saw itsjudytime review it and it looked so nice on her! I always look
for light to medium coverage foundations because full coverage ones are always
the wrong color for me or have an orange tint. Its rare I find one with a
green tint to it (that's my skin undertone) so they always look wrong
on me. I had been using a very light coverage powder, ELF high
definition powder. It is used mostly as a finish over foundation but I
used it as my foundation since its translucent so I didn't have to worry
about color matching. This B.B. cream however matches my skin tone
perfectly and gives much more coverage than the powder! This isn't a
'true' b.b. cream and it states that on the back. The B.B. cream stands
for the beads they use in it but it's still great.
It has a moisturizer type nozzle and comes out as a white cream. In the cream and you see, and then feel, the little 'beauty beads' that look like little purple dots.
I've read a few reviews of people saying the beads are a bit rough feeling and almost exfoliate their skin. I did notice what they were referring to and had read another review on how to solve this issue. With the beads you shouldn't rub them on your face as you would a regular foundation. Instead you should rub slowly and let the warmth of your hands break the beads open naturally. If you rub too harshly and fast the beads won't open and will rub against your skin causing the rough feeling.
It goes on the skin as white, which I've had bad luck with previous skin matching foundations that do this, but this one matches my skin pretty perfectly! I think that its a very light feeling foundation but will not take the place of a moisturizer if your skin is very dry. I have tried this on my nose (very dry) and it emphasizes the dryness, but over a moisturizer it works just fine.
The picture above is right after I applied it all over my face. You can see the finish isn't "matte" but its not greasy or shiny. Its almost dewy but not that shiny. I was so glad to see this cream wasn't as sunscreen-like as I thought it would be. (This has no spf) But what I was worried about was that it would feel sticky and look greasy like sunscreen.
The picture above is after I applied my mattifying (sp?) powder. I can't live without my powder because I love a matte finish!
PROS: Not shiny or greasy, relatively cheap for a foundation, Hardly any smell, great color matching for medium skin tones
CONS: Need moisturizer underneath, Not a true B.B. cream, at this time not a permanent fixture in L'oreal drugstore lines so still harder to find in some places
VERDICT: Would purchase again and would definitely recommend it to a friend. Light to medium coverage and moisturizer still needed. Not true B.B. cream but worth the money for medium skin tones. (Light ones I can't say because I haven't tried but in other blogs I have read that it comes off a bit orange.)
CHECK OUT MY VIDEO BELOW! (Where I got my screenshots from!)
So lately I noticed the whole world is catching up to the trend that I
have been addicted to since they came out! I am soooo excited because
they are honestly the best thing ever. Recently I received an
influenster box and was beyond excited to see we had gotten a Sally
Hansen Nail Strip. box. Reason being that most people assume they're
just stickers and feel they wouldn't last so for them to receive them
all for free gave them a chance to try them out and fall in love.
I hardly ever wear regular nail polish now. I don't know what it is
about me but I cannot paint my nails correctly. They either come out
streaky or bubbly. By slim chance, and I mean once in a million, I get
my nails smooth enough for a photo shoot, I accidentally touch my hair
and smear them!
Alright so now for the review! So application is extremely easy BUT, and
this will explain some bad reviews on this, it takes practice!
Application is easy but yes, it will take longer than 5 mins to do it
your first time. But if your like me, who uses box after box, then you
will be able to do it extremely quickly. I've used it so much I
memorized which sizes work for my nail size so I easily pull them out
first. So don't get discouraged if your first time takes a long time, it
won't forever. If a size is too wide for your nail (rather than long
which is obviously going to happen) you can still use the file to
correct this although I find the wooden stick makes it easier to trace
the edge of the nail first then to use the file. Either way it is not a
problem if the strip is a little larger.
After they're on, the key to making these last almost 2 weeks is clear
nail polish!! I have never ever ever skipped this step and you shouldn't
either. I put three coats on and then every other day another coat if I
remember. That way they last a loooooong time. One tip is that you
should paint the outer edge of the nail, where they polish would chip
the most, that will keep it from being able to be pushed up. Also place
your nail strip as close to your cuticle, sometimes I miss and put it
over the cuticle (oops :/), because it will last longer sine the strip
grows out with your nail, kinda like acrylics. So the more nail covered
the longer they will last. (I wouldn't recommend putting it over the
cuticle like I sometimes do only because when the strip dries its hard
like a cast, so when it grows out with your nail the bottom part is
raised up because it was over the cuticle. Easier to chip and come up.)
Since they are so easy to do and last longer than most nail polishes
without streaks I have officially transferred to Sally Hansen Nail
strips forever! Try them out you won't be upset you did!
